Treatment Process Our facial skin is pretty good at curing and repairing itself, so by injecting NovaThreads® we can get it to heal itself faster by naturally producing new collagen. Your skin will gently and gradually react to several inserted threads by producing new collagen and securing the lift nicely.

what to expect

A non-surgical procedure used to lift areas of the face. The NovaThreads® & InstaLift are needles that are pre-loaded with various types of PDO threads. Our practitioner inserts the whole needle in the interstitial tissue at the subdermal level, parallel to the surface of the skin and pulls the needle out. NovaThreads® & InstaLift work simultaneously with other procedures such as Botox® or dermal fillers to address a patient’s entire facial structure. You may notice effects after treatment, however, maximum effects will occur within 4-6 months while the skin is fully absorbing the PDO suture. Expected treatment time is 60-90 minutes.

Pre-treatment

1. It is important to stop taking any blood thinning medications such as Aspirin, Advil, Motrin or Aleve 5-7 days prior to the procedure.
2. Blood thinners, including alcohol, increase chances and severity of bruising, so it’s recommended to avoid them for at least 24 hours before treatment. If you are particularly prone to bruising, it may be wise to wait a couple of days to give your skin more time heal before drinking.
3. It is recommended to start taking Arnica supplements in preparation for potential bruising and to expedite the healing process.

Post-treatment

1. Bruising and swelling is normal and expected. If bruising is visible you can start taking oral Arnica and apply topical Arnica cream to areas that are discolored.
2. Asymmetry, irregularity and puckering of the tissue are common and will resolve on its own in about 2 weeks.
3. Pain at the insertion point is normal and may last several days to 2 weeks after treatment. Any pain beyond 2 weeks should be addressed with your provider.
4. Avoid excessive facial animation for 2 weeks.
5. Avoid massaging and manipulating of facial tissue for 2 weeks.
6. Avoid strenuous exercise for 72 hours.
